Artists' Philosophy
"Healthy food nourishes our bodies; beautiful art nourishes our souls. We create objects of beauty and function that enhance our everyday lives, as well as make our special days even more memorable."
"The ever-changing interaction of glass and light reflects the strong, yet sometimes fragile nature, of the soul, awakening the awesome imagination in all of us. The scientific nature of the heating and cooling process harmonizes the colors, textures, and shapes we choose to “clothe” our inspirations." Skip Streeter and Kathleen Manhattan
Skip Streeter
Skip brings his natural artistic abilities and formal glass blowing training to Streets of Manhattan. For him, creating glass art is all about energy, challenge, intense focus, and surprise, finding the process exciting and calming at the same time. Skip is always in awe of the end result, relishing the opportunity for him and his clients to look at life a little differently.
Kathleen Manhattan
With over 15 years of experience in fused and slumped glass, as well as drawing, painting and sculpture, Kathleen’s true gift is the design process. Always fascinated by
form, color, movement, and contrast, she is drawn to experiment with various materials, translating her soulful vision into dramatic glass art. “My love of glass has taken me into an exploration I feel I’ll never complete. Each new piece brings forth beauty to uplift and stimulate the viewer. Since I gravitate towards philosophy and matters of the spirit, each creation carries a part of me and is like giving birth to a child.”
